This week, we’re spotlighting Mrs. Stephanie DeWitt’s kindergarten class at William Jefferson Clinton Elementary. Students recently completed an AVID jigsaw activity on story elements. Each group became “experts” on characters, setting, beginning, middle, or end, and then taught their classmates what they learned.
“It’s been wonderful watching them collaborate, think critically, and deepen their understanding of how stories work! Way to go, scholars,” Mrs. DeWitt shared.
Don’t forget to wear your AVID shirts tomorrow, celebrate student success, and keep building those college and career ready skills!

We are also proud to recognize these students who earned a mix of A’s and B’s during the first quarter. Your effort and perseverance are commendable, and you continue to make Sylvan Hills #PCSSDproud!

Congratulations to these outstanding scholars who earned all A’s this quarter! Your hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence are truly inspiring. #PCSSDproud

Congratulations to our talented Hailey Middaugh — your Sylvan Hills family is so proud of you! 💙🐻

Be on the lookout today — SHHS students are out in the community lending a hand, helping neighbors, and giving back! 🙌
From cleaning local parks and caring for flower beds to making blankets for the homeless, our Bears are making a real difference. 🌿💪
These service projects not only help students earn their required 75 volunteer hours but also build socially responsible, community-minded leaders. 💙

They grabbed their umbrellas and rain boots to tour UCA and Hendrix College, getting an inside look at campus life, academics, and all the opportunities ahead.
Way to stay curious and committed, Bears! 🐻🎓

Don’t forget to bring $1 to help end polio worldwide!
During both lunches, the SHHS Interact Club will be collecting donations for the Purple Pinkie Project in partnership with the Rotary Club of Sherwood for World Polio Day.
For every 60¢ donated, a child is immunized against polio. When you give $1 or more, we’ll paint your pinkie purple to show your support in the fight to end polio!
Let’s see how many purple pinkies we can get at SHHS! 💅
