James E.K. Hildreth, M.D. is a leader in HIV and AIDS research, and developed a creat to kill HIV. He is also the first African American to be a Rhodes scholar. He was inducted into the Arkansas Black Hall of Fame in 2009.

PCSSD will have virtual days on Monday, Feb. 15 and Tuesday, Feb. 16 due to winter weather and dangerously cold temperatures over the next 48 hours. Due to ADE regulations, the district is not allowed to declare a SNOW day and close down. However, we love seeing this winter weather and look forward to our teachers and students having winter-based instruction during this pivot!

The Sylvan Hills boys basketball team game against Little Rock Hall has been rescheduled! The boys game will now be held on Saturday, February 13 at 12pm at Little Rock Hall.
The district hosted four vaccine clinics yesterday, including one at SYLVAN HILLS HIGH. We are so thankful to have a chance for so many of our employees to get their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine!
