Stephen Delaney likes reading newspapers on microfilm at the library. He enjoys the old political cartoons and Cynthia Howell/George Bentley stories covering past Arkansas K-12 education issues. Jon Kennedy is his favorite cartoonist but George Fisher is a close second.
One thing he's learned during the pandemic is just how crucial public education is for EVERYONE including those without school-age children. We all need healthy, safe, and functional public schools!
Thank you, Stephen, for your dedication to PCSSD!

STUDENT EXPECTATIONS FOR AMI INSTRUCTION: We understand that many families may experience challenges in scheduling. The most important expectation is completing and submitting assignments as close as possible to when they are due. Teachers will offer digital face to face lessons with students 2-4 days per week. Students should make an effort to attend live instruction. Sessions will be recorded.

UPDATE as of 9:20pm (2/12/20) - In our continued cooperation with law enforcement, SYLVAN HILLS HIGH SCHOOL will have another AMI day tomorrow - Thurs., Feb. 13 - as we continue narrow the investigation. Safety and security for our students and staff will be always a top concern.

Thanks to the PCSSD IT department, Sherwood PD and other law enforcement we significantly narrowed the source of the threat. We feel it is safe to host the basketball games tonight and school tomorrow. Additional security will be present tonight and tomorrow at school.

PCSSD closed Sylvan Hills HS (main) today due to a viable threat that specifically identified staff at the school. The threat was isolated to a specific area which is why only the main campus was closed. We're working with local law enforcement, state police and FBI to resolve.
