PULASKI COUNTY, Ark. -- The Central Arkansas Library System is offering a math tutoring program for students K-12. The program is free and being provided virtually for students.

The Count UP after school math tutoring program matches experienced tutors with students to provide personalized support and guidance. The one-on-one program assists students with homework, building foundational math and study skills, and explores student interests. Group tutoring is also available. Weekly progress reports for parents include information about student achievements and areas of more practice.

Students must be currently enrolled in K-12th grade, live or attend school in Pulaski or Perry counties, and have access to a computer or tablet with a stable internet connection and a video camera (assistance is available as needed).

The Count UP program is also looking for additional tutor volunteers. They are particularly looking for volunteers with teaching experience or math-related experience in STEM and other fields, students working toward education degrees and certifications, and bilingual individuals. Tutors must be at least 16 years old, pass a background check, attend volunteer training, and have regular availability on at least one weekday afternoon and/or Saturday each week.

More information is available through the Hillary Rodham Clinton Children’s Library & Learning Center, 4800 W. 10th St., Little Rock, 501-320-5797, or CALS.org/countup.
