breakfast in classroom

PULASKI COUNTY, Ark. - Governor Asa Hutchinson and Education Secretary Johnny Key announced Wednesday the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) applied for a USDA waiver that would allow all school students to be served meals free of cost through the end of the year.

As of Thursday, September 3, PCSSD received word to begin the free meal distribution immediately. Students at every school in the district will receive free breakfast and lunch from the school.

The free meal waiver is effective through December 31, 2020. It is important for families to still fill out the free and reduced lunch application in order to continue receiving free (or reduced) meals after December 31. If you have not already, please fill out the Free and Reduced Lunch application.

Secretary Key also said the state could waive meal pattern requirements and it would allow parents to pick up meals for their students. This is something PCSSD already has set up for its students and families. If you have not already signed up for a day/time to do your meal pick up, please fill out this form.
